Elliot Rammule Moleko - Director

REGISTRATION SPECIALIST

Elliot Rammule Moleko was born in South Africa in the capital Pretoria in a little town called Ga-Rankuwa. I was professionally trained as a Property Developer but didn’t pursue the career.

My interest in the recruitment of foreign medical practitioners started in 2011 when I joined Africa Health Placement (AHP). At the time, I was based at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) on a full time basis and got to learn and understand how the health profession is regulated in South Africa.

What interested me the most was the need for medical doctors in our hospitals especially in the far rural area of the country.

I learned that South Africa produce enough medical doctors to cover the shortage but a lot of our South African doctors, once they get their Independence Practice, prefer to work at private clinics/hospitals or open their own practice thus leaving a big hole and shortage within our public hospitals.

AHP existed in order to address this need. Their focus was squarely on recruiting foreign doctors to come work in rural government hospitals. I was part of the recruitment team that made this possible and it was a job I did with pride because I could see the positive impact it had on the lives of people and how it reduced the burden of the shortage of doctors for rural hospitals. In 2020 AHP shutdown and for me it was very sad because the need was still there hence I decided to start my own company called Foreign Doctor Registration (FDOR).

The sole focus for FDOR is on the registration part of doctors. The reason being over the years while working in this field I realized many of foreign doctors are interested in coming to make a difference in our health sector but the registration part with the relevant bodies can be long and discouraging.

FDOR exists to make the registration part as painless as possible and possibly continue to fill that gap within our rural government hospitals.
