Within this setting rising human and economic potential is threatened by a number of stubborn challenges. Among these: the twin problems of a persistent disease burden and a scarcity of doctors. With a collective experience of 23 years placing doctors where they are needed most, Tracey & Rammule of Foreign Doctor Registrations (FDOR) are intimately familiar with the complex regional landscape involved in living and working in South Africa.
We know that getting the right doctors into the right facilities – matching skills and interests to local needs – can have a big impact, saving lives in resource-poor environments. That’s why we’ve are offering a simple-to-use platform for doctors who want to register to work in South African either on a paid or volunteer basis.
From first query through registration, in-service and post-placement career opportunities, FDOR offers an end-to-end global health experience. We provide you with clear guidelines to the registration process and job application process (including providing information on visa applications for the country you’ll be working in). We will also look at various pre-service training course and culture and language programs to prepare you for your placement in Africa.
FDOR can assist you to find a volunteer placement and volunteer registration to support this. If you are looking for paid employment, FDOR is confident in getting you registered with the HPCSA and Department of Health approval to seek employment in South Africa. We will then assist you find paid employment. Where this proves a challenge due to budget cuts within our Departments of Health then we can assist you with volunteer placements so that you can still get the chance to gain unparalleled global health experience. This can range from working with community health workers to making systems improvements in your hospital to mentoring local health workers, and more. You will inevitably learn new skills and procedures in a supportive clinical environment.
